Items requested by TTU Graduate School

Official admission to our program requires that you provide the Texas Tech University Office of Graduate Admissions the following items: 

1.   A completed application form at the Graduate School website:

If Texas Tech is the only college or university in Texas to which you are applying, just enter N/A on the essays, as that information is not forwarded to us.

2.   Application fee: $50.00 Domestic and $60.00 International. Please note: Beginning September 1 ,2009, the International Application fee will change to $75.

3.   Official transcripts from all schools attended.

4.   TOEFL score (for international students)

1.   Complete our one-page on-line application.

3.  A recent GMAT score (within the past 5 years).  

4.   We encourage you to provide at least two letters of recommendation. They are not required,but are helpful in close decisions.

5.   We strongly recommend that you submit an essay. Please use this opportunity to present any additional information that would assist the Admissions Committee in the evaluation of your candidacy. This information may include, but is not limited to your short and long term professional goals, significant leadership experience you have had, hardships you have had to overcome, or any special conditions you believe should be considered.

Scholarship Application:

 All MBA applicants with GMAT scores are considered for the Rawls Scholarship and enrollment in the prestigious Rawls Scholars cohort of students. This program is offered to students with superior academic and professional credentials. They attend classes selected specifically for this cohort.

Each scholarship is worth $1,000 per semester, and is renewable for up to three semesters (excluding summer terms), for a total of $3,000. Nonresident students who receive a scholarship will have the benefit of receiving the same tuition and fees as residents (in-state), which is worth an additional $3,500 per semester. There is no need to complete an additional scholarship application.

 

Assistantship Application:

Application Deadlines

 

For Domestic Students             July 1 for the Fall semester

                                                       November 1 for the Spring semester

                                                       April 1 for the Summer semester

 

For International Students       March 1 for the Fall semester

                                                      September 1 for the Spring semester

                     February 1 for the Summer semester

 

There is no guarantee that MBA applications completed after the above dates will be processed in time for admission. MBA students are expected to attend orientation that begins approximately two weeks before regular classes.

 

Fall admission is open to all students. Spring admission is open only to students pursuing the day-time program. Summer admission is open only to students in our joint programs (JD, MD, PharmD, ARCH).

 

Interviews

Personal interviews are not required as part of the admission process, unless requested by the MBA committee. However, applicants are welcome to visit the campus. Appointments may be made for applicants to meet graduate faculty members and current graduate students.

 

MBA/JD Program Applicants

Applicants for the MBA/JD program must be admitted to the School of Law to qualify for admission to the Rawls College of Business. YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO TAKE THE GMAT. In order to be admitted to the MBA part of the MBA/JD Program, you must complete the following steps:  

  1. Apply to the Texas Tech University Graduate School, pay the application fee and have Law School send your transcripts to TTU Graduate School

  2. Complete the Rawls College of Business application and submit it with a copy of your resume.

  3. Once you are admitted to the School of Law, you will be admitted to the Rawls College of Business if you follow these steps. Students may earn up to 12 hours of MBA coursework at Texas Tech University in the academic year prior to matriculation to the law school. The first academic year of law school (fall/spring) consists entirely of law courses.

MBA/MD Program Applicants

To be considered for the MD/MBA (HOM) Joint Degree Program, the Texas Tech University Medical School first must accept applicants. YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO TAKE THE GMAT. In order to be admitted to the MBA part of the MD/MBA (HOM) Program, you must complete the following steps:  

  1. Apply to the Texas Tech University Graduate School and pay the application fee.

  2. Submit official transcripts for all schools attended.

  3. Complete the Rawls College of Business application and submit it with a copy of your resume.

Notification of Admissions Decisions
